Editors’ Notes Part of DG’s comprehensive complete-works epic, here’s a collection of some of the more obscure music for Beethoven 2020. Lang Lang plays the little “Minuet in C,” while musicians such as Daniel Hope, Daniel Müller-Schott, Ronald Brautigam, and the Hagen, Endellion, and Covington quartets fill in the gaps in Beethoven’s extensive output. There are no masterpieces here, but you'll find numerous fascinating glimpses into the workshop of the composer who would give us some of the greatest and most enduring music ever written. The collection includes 11 world-premiere recordings, all done with great style.
