You might know the Alabama rapper from his ingenious flips of classic R&B hits, his cameos on records from his label boss Lil Baby, or his passion for including photos of goats on the covers of his projects. Rylo’s a romantic at heart, with a knack for making sugary melodies sound hard, and his second proper studio album is mostly a showcase for his softer side: NoCap collab “Thang for You” is a ride-or-die anthem with an inspired Bobby Caldwell sample, and on “Taylor Port Junkie” he recruits Lil Yachty for a wavy ballad that’s love-drunk on cheap red wine. And then there’s “End of the Road,” a touching tribute to a lost friend on which he poignantly offers, “I’ve got a heart we can share if you ain’t got enough.”
