Subtle Beauty!

At first glance to me this bands music was a little slow and unattractive in overall nature. After about Five minutes into this album I realized I was undoubtedly wrong! The way they present there sound, the use of imagery in the music in unison with the riveting beats was breathtaking! Overall this band and album ,to me is a prime example of natural and subtle beauty in music

The Byrds reincarnated

Beachwood Sparks sounds remarkably like the Byrds of The Notorious Byrd Brothers (and some tracks on Younger Than Yesterday). There's as much David Crosby influence here as Gram Parsons. Beachwood is good, though somewhat lacking in psychedelic, which sometimes gets a bad rap. The Byrds actually used the psychedelic to deepen their harmonies and instrumentation (see "Goin' Back," "Draft Morning," "Wasn't Born to Follow," "Natural Harmony," "Tribal Gathering," and others. Still, Beachwood Sparks is definitely worth a listen and remain their own group. NOT a Byrds copy only. But the influence is strong.
