barbara keith

this is a masterpiece production from the stone coyotes "first lady of rock". addicting voice and its intersting hearing her accompanied an by orchestra and piano instead of the coyotes with her electric guitar. if you love the stone coyotes, this is a must buy.

Amazing Album

This is album of my childhood. I can remember my mother listening to this on vinyl while she was getting ready for work in the morning. It wasn't until years later that I learned that Barbara Keith was not the originator of "All Along The Watchtower", nevertheless it's the best version of it by far. I highly recommend this purchase, you will not be disappointed.

Detroit or Buffalo?

So “Bramble and the Rose” and “Free the People” are often covered, and in the last few years, the best cut on the album, “Detroit or Buffalo” is getting some play. The lyrics of that tune still resonate even written by someone 35 years younger. Barbara Keith’s album is a long lost “LA” style country folk album, with some of the finest musicians of the day, including Lowell George and Jim Gordon, accompanying. You’ll see two types of reviews, those of us old record store gleaner types who were familiar with both her albums, and recent converts from Stone Coyotes. I’m the former, and if every cut isn’t up to the three I’ve mentioned, well, there is a nice cover of “All Along the Watchtower" and "Rainy Nights” holds up well. It's still very nice to have this long lost album in decent, quality and for not much money.
