Ride the Big Train!

This Album kills it from start to finish. Mike Watt is a God on bass, definitely one of the most influential bassists around. If Flea looks up to you, You rule. I especially appreciate the collaborations with Eddie Vedder, Henry Rolins, and Evan Dando, (Don't forget the elusive Petra Hayden). Over all I would still recommend this album as a cohesive work, it really flows well, and is more than the sum of it's parts. Pure Genius, buy and enjoy.

This is one to own!!!!

I bought this album in 1995 for the sole purpose of getting the song done with Pearl Jam. Little did I know that this album of collaborations was so ahead of its time. From the Groovy funk laid down by Mike with The Beastie Boys on "E-Ticket Ride" right through the 12 + minute guitar romp "Maggot Brain" there is no disappointment. Once in a while you come across an album where every track is awesome. This is one such album.

A definitive collection for 90's alternative

This album brings back memories. I remembered how fresh the songs sounded when I first purchased it in the 90's, and these songs still have a fresh sound. There is a wide variety of excellent artists at work here, and often sounding differently than what we are used to from them. Terrific music with a twist, and a little bit of an informal, garage-band sound that suggests these folks had a good time putting this music together.
