In Love Again

What can one say about a pianist who debuts with The Goldberg Variations? I fell in love with Gould's 1955 recording years ago and have loved it since. Dinnerstein has caused me to fall in love all over. Hers is not a cannonical interpretation, but it is a sublime, raptuous one. As another reviewer noted, we will hear a lot more from this remarkable performer. Oh, and no humming.

How would Bach have played these?

I suddenly realized that these "interpretations" come closer to channeling than anything else. The music comes alive. The master must be dancing. Oh my. Don't believe you have heard the Goldberg Variations until you listen to Simone Dinnerstein play. Highly recommended.

I've been listening to Bach for over 15 years, almost everyday I put his music on. And Dinnerstein is very smooth. Yes, like cream. In fact, I'd say it's one of the best things to happen to classical music in a long, long time.
