So good...

Best album yet! This is the next step of their evolution with clear single quality songs while not abandoning their classic sound... so good. So good. From now on when I introduce people - this is the album.

The Evolution of The Cruxshadows

Astromythology is definitely the next step in the evolution of The Cruxshadows. Most of it is in keeping with the band's typical style, while songs like Home are less darkwave, with a lot of orchestral arrangements and a focus on Rogue's fantastic vocals. Helios, the single released last year, sets the tone for a great album. Standout songs include Singularities, Of Angels and Jupiter. The production quality is great, too. In the past, some albums have been mixed so that Rogue's voice is almost overpowered by the music, but on Astromythology, the vocals and music are expertly balanced.

I started listening to The Cruxshadows about a year ago and fell in love with their music. They have so many awesome songs (Winterborn, Eye of the Storm, Titan, to name a few). When I learned this album was going to be released, I started counting down the days till I could get my hands on it. Well, I just got done listening to it on my way to work, and I have to say, it's amazing. I was already familiar with Helios, as that song was on a prior release, and it's a great intro song. The rest of the album was no less satisfying. Astromythology has joined my list of albums without a single song I would skip over. It's a definite must-have for Cruxshadows fans, and for those who have not previously listened to them, this would be a great introductory album into The Cruxshadows. Probably my favorite song thus far would be Home. Moving and haunting lyrics, and as always, delivered by Rogue's ever capable vocals.
