Sutherland Brothers "Reach for the Sky"

One of the great enigmas regarding i-Tunes was the inclusion of multiple, and nearly uniformly awful, versions by other artists of the Sutherland Brother's classic "Arms of Mary" before actually having any real Sutherland Brother's music available. A 1970's sort of folk-rock band, I believe from Scotland, the Sutherland Brother's music will remind people old enough to remember, or young and interested, of the Richie Furay and Jim Messina band Poco, or of early Nils Lofgren music. The harmonies are great. Dr. Dancer is a nice, up-tempo tune. If you like Van Morrison, give a few of the Sutherland Brother's tunes a listen. While Van Morrison is far more bluesy, with a harder edge, there is something reminiscent in the melodies. I am delighted that i-Tunes have finally added this deserving band to the collection.

Wow, where do I start? 1st, one of the best albums of its time. (70's) I still have my Vinyl copy, but nothing to play it on. Bought it at The Music Hall (long gone) on the Sunset Strip. Not one weak song, some down right haunting. Also saw them once at The Troubadour in West LA (You wouldn't believe the acts I saw play there) Still, while being able to play this album 38 years later on my iPhone is cool it's kinda surreal if you think of it...
