Simply The Best Out There Now

TTNG has to be the most progressive band on the market, missing out on them is a personal kick in the balls to god.

breath of fresh air

I find it harder and harder to find bands who I real can "sink my teeth into" and listen to a CD for an extended period of time... it's even harder to continue to follow a band and hope every day for some kind of news on new material.

This Town Needs Guns has easily taken one of those spots; but then again, that's just for me.

Very technical indie rock with a very emotional side. There will definitely be comparisons to Maps & Atlases simply for the "math-rock" side of these guys, though I'd still say TTNG maintains a "pretty" sound throughout many of their songs without getting confusing. If a friend who isn't the most musically apt or open wanted to hear what "math rock" or even what a GOOD "indie" band is, I'd simply throw on "Baboon" and say nothing.

Everyone of these gentlemen is extremely talented; though guitar is easily the high point, the drummer and bassist are masters of their own craft, allowing the guitar to take center stage without taking up the whole thing.

I think what really gets me is that several of these songs are simply 1 guitar track; the guy is just that good. Yes, there are accompanying tracks used and they work beautifully as well, but the rawness of everything - i think - just works for these guys.

This is a full-album purchase. Each song sounds like something you'd expect without being monotonous or predictable: quite a nice feature.

Glad I stumbled upon this band. Gorgous stuff. I've been looking for ages for a band that uses similar guitar technics as The Owls (the Cap'n Jazz re-union that sadly only made 1 CD), finally I found it!
