Anchors and Anvils

Amy Lavere is quirky and cool. She isn't afraid to take risks - both lyrically and musically. This album works because it is rooted so deeply in the many genres indigeonous to the midsouth. If you like Memphis, you will love this album.

Passion, Love, Loss, Perfection

From start to finish this album oozes brilliance, simplicity, and class. Every Instrument strikes your nerve in a way you wouldn't imagine and in ways I haven't felt with music in years. If you're a fan of 50's style rock, blues, and country this your album and if you're not, you will be. Amy LaVere will find her way to you somehow...

memphis meets nashville

memphis meets nashville and knocks some soul into it. awesome album. try "killing him" or "washing machine" or "people get mad" or if you like ballads try "tennessee valentine". also check out her ep especially "lazarus" sung by her great new guitar player. saw amy at south by southwest this year and she was electric in person, even though she had to contend with bleeding over sound from next venue. see her live, buy the album
