EDITORS’ NOTES

Quebec rap heavyweights Souldia and Rymz join forces on this ruggedly enigmatic LP. And it’s perfectly balanced, with Souldia delivering confrontational street raps and Rymz taking a more poetic approach. "We're not the type to make you smoke s--t," the former growls (in French) on opener “KLM420,” speaking—both literally and metaphorically—to the quality of their musical product. “Mama" has them writing to their moms as a way to reflect on past choices over a trippy synth backdrop. But they find escape on the weightless title track, letting their minds wander as they light up the night with lyrical fire.
