Grossly Underrated

The music of August Rain is an unfortunately well-kept secret. The songs on "American Jesus" thread eternally significant lyrics into earthy, bluesy tunes that are undeniably true to the band's Georgia roots.

The title track speaks to the dilemma facing the American church: trying to make Jesus fit into the modern world rather than the other way around.

The swelling intensity in the song "Grace" is as unexpected as the lyrics are poignant.

This is an easy CD to love, from the layered banjo lines to the collaboration with the amazing Dara Maclean on "Highway".

Venture a few bucks on a great album...you'll have it on repeat in no time.
