12 Songs, 44 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

From the opening breakdown of “Adrenaline,” Florida-based hard rock band Shinedown sets the tone for Amaryllis, a collection of chunky, high-powered guitar riffs and mammoth choruses that are sometimes enlivened by rousing strings. This is an invigorating affair, featuring stirring post-grunge anthems like the title track exploring self-awakening.

Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics.

Who is writing these songs Lennon and McCartney? They are fantastic! Excellent work Shinedown on a very solid album that I will request for many many people.

Great

I highly encourage Shinedown fans to buy this album. The vocals are as clear as ever, great sound and as always, very catchy. This album clearly sets the bar for any future albums released by this group. Unity is a great for multiple plays, and I'm Alright has a great orchestrated sound. The instrimentals are extremely deep. For My Sake has that old Shinedown feel and is another highlight. Overall a great buy. Get the whole album.

Never fails...

Shinedown has managed to completely cover every base of the rock genre with this album. You got your hard rocking, energy filled anthems such as 'Bully', 'Enemies', and 'Nowhere Kids'; along with a good variety of some more radio friendly tunes. It's a perfect mix for anyone who is a fan of any type of rock. I'm so excited to see them going out on a limb and experimenting with different sounds that haven't been on a Shinedown album before, such as the outstanding 'Through the Ghost'. Being a fan of the band from the Leave a Whisper days, I can honestly say I couldn't be more excited with how this album turned out. I'm sure the haters will completely flock to this album to tear apart their hard work and call them radio sellouts, but at the end of the day they are bold and willing to try new things to add to their already amazing collection of albums. I am beyond looking forward to seeing them twice this Spring on their first round of tours in support of the album. To sum it all up in their own words, Shinedown didn't take this album "Back against the wall". Excellent work guys!
