Unsung heroes of the eighties.

This album and "Steps in Time" are two of the most under appreciated albums of the 1980s. Sadly the group broke up and Paul King went on to do a very mediocre solo album "joy." This band has character and style to boot. (pun intended) If you're unfamiliar with the band, check out the greatest hits CD on Itunes, a good deal for the money. But in truth even the non singles are classic gems.

The King for a Reason

This album was my first of King's in high school...and I have been hooked ever since. As a music major in high school and studying theory, I found so many artists to lack in one way or another. The "holes" in King's songs are intentionally layered so all instruments are in accord with another, yet not overwhelming in the least, giving the listener freedom to sing, dance, clean their house with a hip sway, and still maintain full attention to the music.
