EDITORS’ NOTES

“I know it’s hard for you to believe/I’m gonna die whole,” Sevendust vocalist Lajon Witherspoon announces on “Dirty,” the anthem that kicks off the band’s 12th album. The same could be said for Sevendust themselves: Nearly a quarter century into their career, the Atlanta-based alt-metal squad has written some of their most memorable material, as evidenced by the glossy, metallic rumble of “Medicated” and the string-laden slow burn of “Not Original,” which highlights Witherspoon’s soulful vocals.

Whoa…hopefully a sign of things to come!

Based on the single “Dirty” I’m hoping this album is a return to form for 7D. I have been a fan of these guys for a long time and have to admit their sound has faltered in the last few years.

Hopefully this is an indication of heading in the right direction!!
