14 Songs, 43 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

The North Carolina–based sextet Delta Rae achieve a powerful flexibility that includes reflective moments and unrestrained grandiosity on their second album, After It All. Producers Peter Katis (Interpol), Rob Cavallo (Green Day), and Julian Raymond (Glen Campbell) pull out all the stops to emphasize the commercial potential of songs like “Outlaws,” “You’re the One for Me,” and “Scared.” The limits of Americana felt on their debut are clearly breached. Singers Brittany Holljes and Elizabeth Hopkins offer epic readings of “Chasing Twisters” and “Bethlehem Steel” that break this album wide open, and the mild “Dead End Road” reminds us that smaller moments also can be just as powerful.

Seriously Amazing

Delta Rae just keeps getting better and better. I loved their first album and this one's even better.

I dare say my favorite song on here is Outlaws, but they're honestly all so amazing. If you're wondering whether this is worth the ten bucks or whatever, it is. Please buy this album. This band is the most underrated act of the 21st century.

Brilliant

I’m shocked at everyones comment about the “new" chasing twisters, I think this one is even better! Yes there’s a whole different atmosphere because of the quieter beginning, but I think it brings out the depth of character to the song. OVERALL, the entire album is brilliant and this band is going places.
