EDITORS’ NOTES

Huge, pop-savvy EDM abounds on this feel-good debut from feted French beatsmith Madeon, a.k.a. Hugo Pierre Leclercq. He broke out with viral YouTube hit “Pop Culture,” a spontaneous, seamless mash-up of almost 40 pop songs. But Adventure—which features a chorus of guest vocalists, including Kyan and Dan Smith—proves this talented Nantes-born producer is just as capable of crafting brilliant, conceit-free jams, from airy turbo dance bangers (“Zephyr”) to sample-laced chiptune funk (“OK”) and glowing vocoder pop (“Pay No Mind”).

Best of the Best

Madeon has been the best electronic producer in terms of high quality material the past decade. While he does not release as quickly as most other artists, he takes time to really craft a story behind each song. The emotion is reflected in the layered synths, electro-groove bass, and consistently creative drum patterns. The culmination of his previous releases and new works comes together in Adventure. Don’t miss it.

amazing!

the tracks previewed so far are just amazing as heck! always using complex melodies and unique transitions, Madeon creates thrilling electro house songs mixed with indie dance tunes with chill but mesmerizing vocalists stepping in. Every song is a win, i recommend a preorder/buy. 5/5 :)

Amazing

Judging from the already released tracks, this album is going to be amazing. To be honest, I found out about this album through other artists (the features from Bastille’s Dan Smith, Walk the Moon’s Nicholas Petricca, Foster the People’s Mark Foster, and Passion Pit caught my eye), but Madeon’s solo stuff is great, too. I can’t wait the two+ months until this album’s release.
