Decades of Amazing

I found the Ace of Cups with the 2003 release of “It’s Bad For You But Buy It,” a collection of demos, rehearsal tapes, and recordings of concerts and tv performances, but the important thing is the band was five women, it formed in 1967 in the San Francisco scene and they were one of the first all women rock bands. They opened for Jimmy Hendrix at a free concert in Golden Gate Park and he was a fan. They played with the likes of along with the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin. However, they never signed with a label.

This album, recorded in 2017 for the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love, inspired by a reunion performance at Wavy Gravy’s birthday. Listening to the rockin’ blues and psychedelic tunes will make you feel like you are back in the 60’s, even though all the members of the band are in their 70’s

Wow Just Wow

70 year old women team up after 50 years and just putout some music that is fresh and diverse.

A fine album

It's a crime that these ladies didn't get a record deal back in the day. This album stacks up against just about anything from that place and time. In some ways, it's a lot more down-to-earth and accessible. I've been listening to it non-stop since I bought it. I hope there's a tour.
