A World at Suicide

A World at Suicide

Kahn Morbee’s instantly recognizable vocal timbre on the opening track of his third album, A World at Suicide, is like a long, lingering embrace from an old friend. With COVID-19 delaying the album’s release, Kahn had the chance to go back and find a cohesive thread that he felt the album lacked, using vintage synth and vocoder voices as the sonic glue to piece the 12 tracks together. Using first single “All the Beauty” as a metaphor for the pandemic, Kahn chooses to see the silver lining of South Africa’s ongoing lockdown and worldly chaos by looking to the immense beauty and experience of a life fully lived, with the continued belief that kindness generally prevails.
