When I heard Bloc Party had a new song, I was so hoping for another new LP, unfortunately it was simply an addition to their AMAZING "A Weekend in the City", but fortunately, the song is the perfect addition.

While the electronic sound is slightly different from the more punk roots, it is by no means brand new territory for the eclectic band. The same high energy, pounding bass line, and guitar layers is present, but is now accompanied by a more prevelant synth sound which breaks any remaining barriers Bloc Party could have possible faced. Whether or not you prefer the more punk production of Silent Alarm, the grandiose melodic blossoming and building of A Weekend in the City, or the high energy and electronic power of FLUX, you must admit these guys know how to make music, and make it well. Hooray for Bloc Party and their ever evolving sound and style.

If you don't already have this cd, it is the BEST cd to come out in 2007, and the new song FLUX elevates it to perfection. Buy this cd, you will thank me later!!!!

Strong Sophmore Effort

This album does not quite match the excellent debut Silent Alarm, but it is a good album. This is the iTunes reissue with the bonus track 'Flux' and the iTunes exclusive track 'Cain Said to Abel'. 'Flux' is a great song and worth picking up if you already own the album. In my opinion, this album starts very strong with four terrific songs, but it tapers off towards the end.
