Editors’ Notes The title for Blacc Zacc’s second project of 2020, 803 Legend, is revelatory. If there are two things we should know about Zacc, it’s that he hails from Columbia, South Carolina (the 803 area code), and that he’s long been established at home. 803 Legend, however, is for the world. Zacc has elected himself the state’s best chance for national rap acclaim, presenting stories of his time in the streets as proof that South Carolina deserves respect.

Zacc's style should be familiar, even for new listeners. His delivery strikes an alluring balance between late-aughts Gucci Mane and Rick Ross. The stories he tells, however, are all his own, and he’s called on up-and-coming talents like Fat Loc, ZayTheGOAT, and 1017 signee Foogiano to help bolster them. 803 Legend also features production from well-established names like Tay Keith, TnTXD, and Lezter Beats, Zacc acknowledging one of the original tenets of growing a brand: You gotta spend money to make money.
