Editors’ Notes Exile is an adventure in sound. The powerful fusion of electronic and acoustic envelops the listener from the blurred, hazy atmospherics of “Astronaut in the Rising Sun” to the trance-like, frenetic “Pianodiscoteque” that sets the post-classical ambient sound at the heart of a club. In “Grace,” pianist/violinist Luca d’Alberto—the sole performer on Exile—shows his deft ear for texture with violin lines that interweave and grow organically, while “Love Song” cocoons the listener in a panoply of beautifully rendered colors.
