Golden Age Houndmouth
EDITORS’ NOTES
Following a major-label leap and the departure of keyboardist Katie Toupin, Indiana trio Houndmouth opted for reinvention. Bright, stylish, and meticulously produced, Golden Age swaps the band’s rustic Americana for the dance-floor thrills of groups like Tame Impala and MGMT—a sound both big and humble, retro and now, with flashes of disco (“This Party”) and even golden-age hip-hop (“Coast to Coast”). And though diehards may cry heresy, the anthemic core of the band’s songwriting remains intact.
