The hits

Although extensive, it lacks on early years and some fan favorites. Monumental tracks like Love yer brain, Feeling Yourself Disintegrate, Halloween on the Barbary Coast, as well as tracks from Priest Driven Ambulance are missing. Same for tracks like Bowie’s Life on Mars, the B-side Ma,I didn’t notice, Beck and White Stripes covers, and Chainsaw Kittens cover She’s gone mad. All of which give the flaming lips a colorful history. However, if does have some tracks from Zaireeka; an album which deserves to be put out on ITunes. It would be interesting to see what volume 2 looks like if there is one.

Greatest Hits

What stands out the most to me is that The Soft Bulletin and YBTPR is the pinnacle of their career so far. There are a number of questionable “hits”, but overall I enjoyed the album. Wondering why Fight Test wasn’t included. Seems an obvious choice.
