Ultimate Duets

Having spent decades revitalizing the swing of classic jazz with the Afro-Caribbean rhythms of his Cuban homeland, trumpeter Arturo Sandoval proves here that he can lift up singers of all generations and genres. He's ecstatic when unfurling the triumphant hook of "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing" while he and bachata singer Prince Royce pay tribute to Stevie Wonder, and then lets his horn weep alongside Wonder himself as the soul great aches through Barbra Streisand's classic "People." And while these are mostly new renditions of well-loved songs, Pharrell Williams teams with Ariana Grande for a steamy original that honors Sandoval himself. "His melodies wash up on your mind just like seashells," Grande purrs on "Arturo Sandoval," while the chorus compares his glittering talent to the fabled city of El Dorado.
