(disclaimer) i'm judging this album as a whole and trying to veer away from the "new vocalist" debacle. Henry is fantastic, the best possible replacement, and unbelievably on-key (vocals and guitar/bass) playing live: i've expressed my thoughts. moving on...

their newest album finds TTNG progressing further. while not "ditching" some of their signature elements (Tim's distinct guitar style, Chris' insanely tight drumming, among many others) they stray into new ground with some of the instrumental tracks and more 'electronic'-focused beats, as well as Chris (drummer) covering even more ground and Tim still changing his style and experimenting with new tunings/capo setups. the final product has Ed Rose production/involvement written all over it as everything sounds crisp and clear without being over-produced.

from start to finish, "" flows EXTREMELY well. songs vary in mood, style, and tone. instrumentals keep you hooked but are engaging enough I wouldn't dare call them "filler" material. in my opinion, this is a straight-through listen; each track makes sense and flows into one another seamlessly. 5 stars is an understatement.

Please don't ever stop making music.
