Editors’ Notes Anderson East dives into classic soul on his sophomore release, paying thrilling respect to doo-wop (“Only You”), Stax-style pounders (Satisfy Me ) and country soul (“Devil In Me”). Whatever the style, everything is knitted together by Anderson’s deliciously worn-and-torn vocal. It’s a short ride at 33 minutes, but producer Dave Cobb’s perfectly poised arrangements and the depth of Anderson’s emotion ensure it’s a very satisfying one.
