Led by songwriter Enon Kawatani, indigo la End have invigorated the Japanese indie scene since releasing their debut EP in 2012. Their fast-paced, chiming guitar work, catchy vocal melodies and driving drums quickly gained them attention in Tokyo, and they were duly snapped up by a major label—along with Kawatani's other project, Gesu no Kiwami Otome. They've gone on to hone their sound, releasing polished, hook-laden rock, while Kawatani's lyrics mine a reach seam of inspiration to speak openly of love, longing and heartbreak as he sings in delicate tones, even sliding into aching falsetto.
