British film composer Daniel Pemberton began his career as a composer of electronic and avant-garde music in the ‘90s, and so his diverse catalogue of film scores reflects a broad scope of interests and styles. His Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse compositions feature hip-hop beats and rich synth blasts that underscore the movie's sprawling action, while Steve Jobs is awash in waves of buoyant, Kraftwerkian electronic textures. Molly’s Game, full of guitar- and synth-forward tunes, is pensive and soulful, and Pemberton calls back to earlier times filled with Impressionism and jazz with the pianos and woodwinds of his Motherless Brooklyn score.
