In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Music has always been in my life. I grew up singing in the church and learning how to sing and perform through my mother who is a gospel singer. I started rapping and writing poetry at 14. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill Nas, Illmatic The Clark Sisters, Live - One Last Time These three albums are a perfect embodiment of who I am as a person and artist. I am the around the way church girl with something to say to the world. I am poetic, spiritual, and conscious just like these three albums. Not only did I write this song to encourage myself when I was in a dark place but also to remind others that God is always with us. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Seeing my music placed in commercials, movies, and TV shows has been so exciting. I feel blessed that the music is being shared with a larger audience. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would love to work with Little Simz, Rapsody and Faith Evans one day.
