If MARUV's songs were a city, they’d be a sultry after-dark metropolis with mystery lurking at turn. In the Ukrainian star's noir-ish bangers, she repurposes Blade Runner synths for pulsing dance-floor velocity, and they’re full of electronic effects that rustle and rattle around her velvety vocals. MARUV began as a pop-rock band called PRINGLEZ before their sonic evolution prompted a name change. In 2018, Korsun went solo as MARUV alone, bringing together bassy club grooves and pop hooks on 2018's Black Water. That album, she teased, was just the beginning.
