As the epicentre of Russia’s underground scene in the ‘80s, the Leningrad Rock Club—although state-monitored—played host to many of the country’s most iconic and groundbreaking bands. Rock pioneers like Akvarium, Kino and Alisa performed there, as did the subversive and synth-driven Televizor, the ska-influenced Strannye Igry and the motley Auktyon crew—and they all gather in this explosive mix.
