Huey Lewis & The News: Next Steps

Not every Huey Lewis tune pops with upbeat choruses and giddily swinging grooves. Ever since coming together in 1979, Lewis and his band have had a soft spot for blue-eyed soul tinged with self-doubt (“Hope You Love Me Like You Say You Do”) and bluesy, down-on-your-luck rock 'n' roll (“Bad Is Bad”). They've even flirted with soul jazz on a velvety version of the Smokey Robinson nugget “Cruisin'”.
