About Tyron Hapi

As a young teen, Melbourne, Australia’s Tyron Hapi turned his talents as a self-taught pianist toward high-voltage progressive house; by 17, he was releasing anthems like 2016’s “Gorilla” on EDM powerhouse Spinnin’ Records. But Hapi’s musical curiosity didn’t stop at dance music: Just a few years into his career, he was fusing tropical house with pop—a versatility that boded well for his skills behind the boards. Working with pop singers like Tigerlily and Liam Ferrari, he has combined billowing chord progressions with high-tech production that makes every note sound like a million bucks. Crafting beats for rappers like Masked Wolf and Yung Gwopp, he pairs diamond-hard drums with some of the wooziest, waviest melodies in trap. And even as he has branched into still more sounds—like the flamenco-kissed reggaetón of 2021’s “Yahvé”, with Spanish rapper Arce—he has kept innovating progressive house with songs like “Euphoria”, a big-room wolf in ambient sheep’s clothing. No jack of all trades, he’s a master of all of them.
