About The Blood Brothers
Formed in 1997, Seattle’s Blood Brothers rapidly mutated from screamo to complex post-hardcore with glam, cabaret, and art-pop touches on 2003’s BURN, PIANO ISLAND, BURN and 2004’s CRIMES. Jordan Blilie’s deeper croon and Johnny Whitney’s day-glo girlish shrieks played off of each other for maximum effect, but the dual vocals were devastating when combined at full strength. Though the Blood Brothers seemed to be artistic punk’s new torchbearers, they abruptly split after 2006’s diverse, abrasive YOUNG MACHETES, which featured production assistance from Fugazi legend Guy Piccioto.
