About Taylor Deupree

Electronic musician Taylor Deupree is highly productive as a recording artist, graphic designer, and mastering engineer, in addition to running the minimalist label 12k. During the '90s, he was known for making hard acid techno as part of Prototype 909, in addition to ambient techno as Human Mesh Dance and SETI (with Savvas Ysatis). Nearly all of Deupree's work since the late '90s has appeared under his own name, and has ranged from glitchy minimal techno (1998's Comma, several early-'00s 12"s on the Audio.nl label) to left-field electro-pop (2005's Every Still Day, with Eisi) to electro-acoustic drone (2010's Shoals). He has released albums with fellow prolific electronic musicians like Ryuichi Sakamoto, Christopher Willits, and Richard Chartier. He revisited his earlier glitch album Stil. with an acoustic reworking, Sti.ll, in 2024.
