In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was younger, I performed in the Amateur Night competition at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem, NY. In front of the notoriously, brutally honest audience I won twice and placed second a third time. While there I met Biz Markie backstage. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Fred Hammond, Radical for Christ, Purpose By Design Grover Washington, Jr., Winelight Sam Rucker, In Position, The Album My dad played Winelight when I was a kid and it influenced me to play the sax. Purpose by Design played a major role in my spiritual growth. In Position, The Album is the amalgamation of all the musical and spiritual influences throughout my life. Tell us why you chose this song. “Down on the Inside” Down on the Inside is about the seed of faith that is planted in us when we receive the love of God in our lives. It is by His spirit inside of us that we can live righteously, walk in the purpose that He has for us, and love others unconditionally. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Competing in and winning the Amateur Night competition at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, NY. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I've been blessed to make a lot of great music with a lot of great people in a lot of great places. Now, I just want to accomplish the assignment God has given me this talent for. My only bucket list item is to fulfill His purpose for me.
