Monotonix

About Monotonix

In the mid-2000s, singer Ami Shalev, guitarist Yonatan Gat, and drummer Haggai Fershtman formed stoner-metal-cum-garage-punk trio Monotonix in Tel Aviv. Feeling limited by their native scene, the band began making its way abroad, and gaining a reputation for chaotic, destructive, and even sexual live performances. By 2007, they’d gained the attention of iconic Chicago indie rock imprint Drag City Records, which quickly released 2008’s BODY LANGUAGE EP. Monotonix subsequently toured for the majority of that year, gaining a following with fans of similar artists like RTX and Dark Meat.
