About KAZKA

Mixing traditional folk music with modern electronic sounds, the Ukranian group KAZKA has a self-declared mission to “bring Ukranian culture to the world”.

• KAZKA formed in 2017 as a duo featuring singer Oleksandra Zaritska and guitarist/keyboardist Mykyta Budash. Dmytro Mazuriak joined in 2018 on woodwinds, including the sopilka, a flute-like folk instrument.
• In 2017, the group competed on the eighth season of the Ukranian version of X-Factor. They were eliminated in the fifth week. The group has also tried out to represent Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest, finishing sixth in 2018 and third in 2019.
• The band’s 2018 debut album, Karma, includes the song “Cry”, which hit No. 1 on charts in Bulgaria and Russia. Their second album, Nirvana, arrived in 2019.
