James Buswell

About James Buswell

Violinist James Buswell worked with top orchestras and conductors at a young age. He studied at Julliard and then moved on to Harvard, where he majored in art history. During a period as a member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, he often appeared at that venue and around the New York metropolitan area, as well as in and near Boston. In addition to a repertoire of some 100 works covering three centuries of music, Buswell has been a champion of contemporary music and has also worked to revive lesser-known works by composers of the 20th century. All of his recordings, except for a 1995 traversal of the Bach Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin, have been on Naxos. ~ James Manheim
