About Chinx

Chinx was a rising New York City rapper signed to French Montana’s Coke Boy Records when he was killed in a drive-by shooting in his hometown of Queens in 2015. • He started rapping at the lunch table with his friends in middle school and began to take music seriously in ninth grade, when he would pour his street money into studio time. • The rapper initially called himself Chinx Drugz. The “Drugz” part stemmed from him selling substances on street corners. • He met fellow rapper Stack Bundles in high school, and they formed the Riot Squad with Bynoe and Cau2g. • In 2005, Chinx was sentenced to five years on drug and robbery charges. He was released in 2008. The following year, he dropped his debut mixtape, Hurry Up & Die Vol. 1: Get Ya Casket On. • Chinx joined rapper French Montana’s Coke Boys Records in 2009. He was part of five collaborative Coke Boys mixtapes between 2010 and 2014. • Rick Ross and Diddy joined Chinx and French on 2013’s popular “I’m a Coke Boy” remix. • Three months after Chinx was murdered in 2015, his estate released his long-awaited Welcome to JFK album, featuring Nipsey Hussle, Lil Durk and Ty Dolla $ign. • His second posthumous LP, Legends Never Die, dropped in 2016.
