Carlos Niño

Carlos Niño is a producer, composer, arranger, and DJ with an extensive body of spiritually minded work melding jazz, hip-hop, new age, soul, and other styles. His music blends orchestral arrangements and acoustic instruments with cutting-edge avant-garde production techniques. Niño's notable group projects include the jazz ensembles Build an Ark and Hu Vibrational, and experimental hip-hop duo AmmonContact. He's released recordings alongside Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, beginning with 2007's Fill the Heart Shaped Cup), and has issued several albums as Carlos Niño & Friends, including 2016's Flutes, Echoes, It's All Happening! In 2023, (I'm Just) Chillin', On Fire featured Laraaji, Iasos, Madlib, and Deantoni Parks. Also that year, he and South African pianist, composer, and vocalist Thandi Ntuli released the duo outing Rainbow Revisited. Both contributed to Andre 3000's 2024 surprise hit solo album New Blue Sun. In May 2024, Carlos Niño & Friends released Placenta.
