On that note, we start things off with harmony, a concept that runs deep through Chinese culture. In a broader sense, it represents stability in society and extends to our careers, relationships and families. It’s even reflected in the Chinese language: the character for harmony can also mean “and”, “with” and “together”. And like in English, it also has musical roots. The character “和” is made up of two parts: “禾” represents a traditional reed instrument (龢), while “口” means mouth.
