Selects: Cinthie

Cinthie has been DJing since her teens in the ’90s—but it was only a couple of years ago that the Berlin-based artist released her first proper album, 2020’s Skylines - Citylights, which worked as both a tribute to the classic house, techno and UK garage she loved and as a showcase of her skilful production hand. Her recent addition to K7’s DJ-Kicks series lays out a similar road map via the work of other artists, a number of which she highlights in her Selects playlist—where DJs and producers share their big tunes of any given moment. “The playlist doesn’t necessarily follow a theme as such,” Cinthie tells Apple Music. “I wanted to highlight some key tracks from my DJ-Kicks compilation, including my own track ‘Organ’, as well as some of my favourite producers I’ve recently discovered. Plus a few candies from some more legacy artists that I’ve always supported in my many years on the road.” Hear all Cinthie’s Selects, and read on for her comments on a few of them. Chez Damier, “I Never Knew Love (MK Extended Club Mix)” “This one’s just a perfect combination: MK remixing Chez is the personification of pure, soulful house music.” Cinthie, “Organ” “This one I made especially for the release of my Kicks comp.” X-Coast, “Track 1” “X-Coast is one of the most exciting producers of late—always super fun and energetic-sounding with a ravey edge.”
