About Hermanos Espinoza

Hermanos Espinoza brought youthful energy to corridos and other regional Mexican styles when they debuted in 2022. Their wildly popular debut track, “Prueba De Fuego”, made brothers Joel and Leonel overnight sensations in norteño music. Hailing from Edinburg, deep in South Texas, the quintet, led by Joel (on accordion and lead vocals) and Leonel (on 12-string bajo sexto), are an American group with Mexican roots whose music is the distinct sound of the border between the two countries. You can hear the update on the 2024 EP Vueltas, with its pensive lyrics displaying a Gen Z introspective tendency. Though there is a subtle new-school swagger to Hermanos Espinoza’s emotive songs (underscored by their trademark glittery jackets), there is also a reverence for the rich musical culture in which they were raised. Joel’s father had instilled a love of the accordion in him from an early age, while Leonel learned to play on a bajo sexto borrowed from an uncle. For the brothers, music has always been a family affair.
