About Eric Prydz

Eric Prydz is one of modern dance music’s most influential figures, bridging the gap between the mainstream and the underground with his soaring progressive house anthems. After debuting in 2001, the DJ and producer (born in Stockholm in 1976) struck gold with 2004’s “Call on Me”, topping multiple European charts with its siren-like vocal hook from Steve Winwood’s hit “Valerie” and attention-grabbing music video. Prydz’ profile kept climbing with singles including “Proper Education”, “Pjanoo” and “Miami to Atlanta”, the latter of which established his signature (and often-imitated) sound: the “Pryda snare”. All the while, he expanded his repertoire across multiple aliases, notably Pryda for melodic and uplifting fare and Cirez D for darker, stripped-back techno. The 2010s saw Prydz finally release his debut artist album, 2016’s Opus, and innovate outside the studio through the use of holograms in his EPIC live shows, creating a new level of audiovisual spectacle that reverberates throughout today’s live dance-music landscape.
