Part of a Russian hip-hop crew who portray an image of good-time cyber-crooks, FLESH and his fellow rappers like LIZER are united by an in-your-face approach that’s informed as much by angst-ridden emo as dark trap. “High Technologies”, with its gadget obsessions, manifests this post-modern punk-rap attitude with ominous bass-heavy beats, bit-crushed sounds and a glowering, heavily processed vocal attack. Elsewhere, the self-awareness of LIZER’s “False Mirror” drops the front and lets out the infectious vocal melodies within the likes of “Internal”, where FLESH’s falsetto is in fine fettle.
