Solos

The power of one. Solos in the literal sense of the word—completely unaccompanied instruments or voices—have a very special magic that creates an extraordinary sense of communion between player and listener. From Bach onwards, composers kept the incredible purity of a single instrument for some of their most profound utterances (see Bach’s solo cello suites). Explore some wonderful examples here.
