The sons of late musician Sadruddin Merchant, Salim and Sulaiman Merchant regularly draw from their rich and varied background. Salim mastered the piano at the Trinity College of Music in London, while the elder Sulaiman took up the tabla, training with the legendary Ustad Zakir Hussain. Breaking through in 2003 with Ram Gopal Varma's Bhoot, the pair were soon working with top film producers like Yash Chopra. They've also produced remixes for Lady Gaga, appeared as judges on Indian Idol and embarked on a Hollywood career, earning a Daytime Emmy nomination for their work for Wonder Pets.
