About TEC

A self-styled “poetic activist,” Baton Rouge rapper TEC claims he was the first artist in his city to use Auto-Tune. • Together with fellow Baton Rouge rhymer Maine Musik, TEC founded the Spider Nation movement. The pair released a joint mixtape called Spider Nation in 2017. • TEC was signed to No Limit Forever Records, a label started by Master P’s son Romeo Miller in 2010. The rapper released a No Limit mixtape in 2012 but ultimately left due to his legal troubles (he was in jail for three years) and creative differences. • In 2019, TEC feuded with Young Thug and the rest of the Atlanta rapper’s YSL Records roster over his belief that they were copying his spider-centric imagery. • The rapper released three new projects in 2020: Web Live Vol. 3, Web Swings, and 8 Legged Explosive.
